Hi, I’m Edvald Numani, the mind and heart behind ExcelBell. By day, I’m a data professional and Excel expert based in Albania, specializing in financial analysis and accounting, but my true passion lies in unraveling the endless possibilities of Microsoft Excel. Throughout my career, I’ve always been the go-to person when colleagues needed help solving Excel challenges. Whether it was simplifying complex problems, creating automated templates, or optimizing workflows, I’ve loved every moment of diving into spreadsheets and finding solutions.
One of the most rewarding aspects of working with Excel has been the ability to make tasks easier, faster, and smarter; not just for myself but for others too. I take pride in creating tools that save time and eliminate repetitive work, giving people the freedom to focus on what really matters. In my own role, these efficiencies have shortened my workdays and allowed me to stay ahead, fueling my passion for continuous learning and innovation.
This blog is my dream in action. I want to break free from the physical boundaries of a traditional office and share my knowledge with anyone, anywhere. Through ExcelBell, I hope to help others achieve the same freedom and efficiency I’ve found, whether they’re beginners learning the basics or professionals seeking advanced tips and strategies.
This About page is more than just my introduction; it’s also a small diary of my journey. The Journey
September 2026 - A New Reason to Build
If you’ve been following ExcelBell, you may have noticed that things have been a little quieter around here lately.
There is a very good reason for that.
On August 6, 2026, my daughter, Sofia, was born.
For the past few weeks, spreadsheets, formulas, articles, and templates have understandably taken a back seat. My days (and quite a few of my nights) have been spent discovering an entirely different kind of challenge: becoming a father.
And strangely enough, stepping away from ExcelBell for a while has made me think more about why I started it in the first place.
When I created this website, I wrote that one of my dreams was to break free from the physical boundaries of a traditional office. I talked about efficiency, freedom, and building something of my own. At the time, those ideas mostly meant having more control over my work and my time.
Today, freedom means something different.
It means being there.
Being able to spend an ordinary Tuesday afternoon with my daughter. Being present for the little moments instead of hearing about them later. Having the freedom to decide where my time goes, rather than having that decision made entirely by a work schedule.
There is a quote often attributed to Warren Buffett that says, “The rich invest in time.” Whether measured in money, success, or spreadsheets, I’m beginning to think that time may be the most valuable asset we ever manage.
Sofia has given me an even stronger reason to keep building ExcelBell.
Ironically, having a newborn means I have less free time than ever. But somehow, I also have more motivation than ever to find that time, an hour here, half an hour there, and keep working on this little project.
Because the goal is no longer simply to see whether I can turn ExcelBell into something successful.
I want to build something that can give my family more freedom. Something that might one day allow me to work on my own terms, from wherever we happen to be, and most importantly, to be more present in their lives.
Maybe ExcelBell will become that.
Maybe it won’t.
But since I promised that this page would be a diary of the journey, not just the polished parts of it, this feels like a chapter worth writing down.
So, Sofia, if you ever happen to read this many years from now:
You were only one month old when I wrote this. You were the reason I had less time for ExcelBell, and, at the same time, the reason I wanted more than ever to make it work.
